The Ultrashape uses high powered focused ultrasound to safely and effectively remove unwanted fat. It is an office procedure that requires no anaesthetic, is non invasive and selectively destroys fat cells in the chosen body region. The surrounding tissue including nerves, blood vessels and skin remain unharmed.

The Ultrashape system is based on the lithotripter which has been used for many years to break up kidney stones. During treatment the fat cells are disrupted and the stored fat is released into the surrounding tissues. It is then transported away through the blood and lymphatic systems.

The Alternatives

Diet and exercise are not selective in targeting areas for fat reduction.

Liposuction has, until now, been the best way to remove excess fat from those areas that do not respond to diet and exercise. It is a powerful tool. However, the disadvantage of liposuction is that it is an invasive procedure requiring a general or local anaesthetic and some time off work to recuperate.
